History of Deming Construction
Justus Deming, the first generation of Deming contractors, was experienced in general construction, including carpentry, concrete, and masonry. His experience included working as a carpenter on the AL-CAN Highway during World War II. Justus started a partnership called Deming and Sherman Construction in 1945. Shortly after the partnerships conception, Sherman stepped down and the company became Deming Construction.
Justus’ son, Harold, became a partner with Justus in the early 1950s. They built anything from houses to barns to septic systems. Harold attended Dunwoody Institute for Drafting and Estimating from 1952 to 1953. Justus passed away prematurely in 1954 leaving Harold to run Deming Construction until Harold passed away in the spring of 2007.
